미국은 부시 대통령의 신속무역협상권이 만료되는 6월 말 이전에 의회가 협정 내용을 검토할 수 있는 시간을 주기 위해 3월 말까지는 자유무역협정을 체결할 수 있기를 바라고 있습니다.

South Korean and U.S. trade negotiators have reached deals on parts of a free trade agreement, but disagreements remain about automobiles and farming.
South Korean and U.S. representatives ended five days of talks today (Monday) in Seoul.
South Korea's deputy chief negotiator (Lee Hye-min) said the groundwork has been laid to strike a deal before the end of the month, but informal talks will be needed to settle the remaining issues.
The chief U.S. envoy (Wendy Cutler) agreed, saying while significant progress has been made, additional work remains in areas including trade in automobiles.
The United States wants to reach a free trade agreement by the end of March, giving Congress time to review it before President Bush's authority to "fast track" (obtain quick approval for) trade deals expires at the end of June.
