이란은 이라크문제와 관련해 오는 10일 바그다드에서 개최되는 국제회의에 참석할 것이라고 밝혔습니다.
마뉴셰르 모타키 이란 외무장관은 7일 테헤란에서 기자회견을 갖고 압바스 아라기치 부 외무장관이 이란 대표단을 이끌고 이 회의에 참석할 것이라고 말했습니다.
이란은 이보다 앞서 회의에 참여하기를 원하지만 그 여부가 확실치는 않다고 시사한 바 있습니다.
이번 회의는 이라크의 주변국들과 유엔안전보장 5개 상임이사국인 미국과 영국, 프랑스, 러시아와 중국이 참가하며, 이라크의 안정화 방안이 집중 논의 될 것으로 예상됩니다. 하지만 이번 회의에서 미국이 이란과 시리아와 직접 회담을 가질지는 확실하지 않습니다. 미국은 지금까지 이란과 시리아가 이라크 문제에 개입하고 있다고 비난해 왔습니다.

Iran says it will attend the international conference on Iraq, which is to be held in Baghdad on Saturday.
Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki told a news conference in Tehran today (Wednesday) that the deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs (Abbas Araghchi) will lead an Iranian delegation at the meeting.
Earlier, Iran indicated it was in favor of participating but had some reservations.
The Baghdad conference is expected to focus on ways to stabilize Iraq. It is to include Iraq's neighbors and the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council -- the United States, Britain, France, Russia and China.
It is not clear if the U.S. will hold direct talks with Iran and Syria at the conference -- the two countries Washington accuses of meddling in Iraq.
