미국과 영국, 프랑스, 러시아, 중국, 독일 등 6개 나라 대표들은 어제(5일) 뉴욕에 있는 유엔주재 영국 대표부에서 제재 논의를 시작했습니다.
중국과 러시아 대표들은 첫 날 회의가 끝난 뒤 6개 나라가 이란의 핵활동을 중단하기 위해 이란에 60 일간의 시한을 주기로 합의했다고 말했습니다. 그러나 유엔 외교 관리들은 6개 나라가 아직 새 결의안 문구에 뜻을 같이 하지 못했다고 말했습니다.
유엔안전보장이사회는 앞서 지난 12월 이란에 제한된 제재를 부과하고 핵무기로 사용될 수 있는 농축 우라늄 활동을 60일 안에 중단할 것을 결의했습니다.

U.N. envoys from six major world powers are discussing new sanctions on Iran for defying a Security Council demand to halt its sensitive nuclear activities.
Ambassadors the five permanent Security Council members -- the United States, Britain, France, Russia and China -- plus Germany began the talks Monday at the British mission to the U.N.
After the first meeting, China's and Russia's envoys said the six world powers agreed to include a 60-day deadline in the new resolution for Iranian compliance. But, U.N. diplomats say the envoys have yet to decide on the language for the resolution.
In December, the Security Council imposed limited sanctions on Iran and set a 60-day deadline for Tehran to stop enriching uranium, which could be used making nuclear weapons.
Iran ignored that resolution.
