24일 이라크 안바르 주의 수니파 회교 사원 외곽에서 트럭 폭탄이 터져 37명이 숨지고 60여명이 다쳤다고 이라크 경찰이 밝혔습니다.
이와는 별도로 바그다드 공항 부근의 한 검문소에 대한 저항분자들의 공격으로 8명의 이라크 경찰관이 사망했다고 미군이 밝혔습니다.
미군은 이날 발표한 성명에서 이어 벌어진 교전에서 적어도 2명의 저항세력들이 사살됐다고 말했습니다.
한편, 이날 한 자살폭탄공격자가 시아파의 최고정치지도자인 압둘 아지즈 알-하킴 이라크이슬람혁명최고위원회 위원장 자택 부근의 검문소를 공격해 1명의 경비원이 살해되고, 여러 명이 부상했다고 이라크의 한 관계자가 밝혔습니다.
알-하킴 위원장은 최근 자신의 아들 아마르 알-하킴이 미군에 구금돼 화제를 모았던 그 인물입니다.
이라크 인들은 어제에 이어 오늘도 나자프, 바스라, 카르발라등 여러 시아파 도시에서 미군이 하킴의 맏아들 아마르를 구금한데 항의하며 시위를 벌였습니다.
아마르 알-하킴은 23일 이란 여행을 마치고 돌아오다가 국경 검문소에서 미군에 구금됐다가 그날로 풀려났습니다.

Iraqi police say a truck bomb killed 37 people and wounded more than 60 outside a Sunni mosque today (Saturday) in restive Anbar province.
Separately today, the U.S. military says eight Iraqi police officers were killed in an insurgent attack on a checkpoint near Baghdad's airport.
In a statement, the military said at least two insurgents were killed in the ensuing gunbattle.
Elsewhere in Baghdad, an Iraqi official says a suicide car bomber (today/Saturday) attacked a checkpoint near the house of a powerful Shi'ite leader, killing one guard and wounding several others.
The interior ministry source said the violence occurred near the compound of Abdul Aziz al-Hakim, whose son is at the center of recent controversy.
Iraqis (today/Saturday) rallied in several Shi'ite cities and towns (including Najaf, Basra and Karbala) to protest the brief detention by U.S. troops of Hakim's eldest son, Amar.
