죠지 부시 미국 대통령은 이란 혁명수비대의 정예 조직인 알 쿠즈 여단이 정밀 폭탄 제조물질들을 이라크 저항분자들에게 공급하고 있다는 지적을 되풀이하고 있습니다.
부시 대통령은 14일, 백악관 기자회견에서 이같이 되풀이 했으나 이란 정부의 고위층이 그러한 공급을 승인했는지 여부는 가려지지 않고 있다고 말했습니다. 바그다드 주둔 미군 관계관들은 이라크 저항분자들에 대한 무기공급에 이란 정부가 관여하고 있다고 지적하고 있습니다.
부시 대통령은 미군 병력과 이라크 국민들을 보호하기 위한 조치를 취할 것임을 다짐했습니다.
부시 대통령은 또 이란 국민들에 대한 자신의 메시지는 그들의 정부가 이란을 세계의 다른 나라들로부터 고립시키는 결정들을 내리고 있다는 사실에 관한 것이라고 말했습니다.

President Bush has repeated U.S. charges that Iran's elite Quds force is supplying sophisticated bomb-making materials to insurgent groups in Iraq. At a White House news conference, Mr. Bush vowed to take action to protect U.S. troops and the Iraqi people.
However, he said it is not clear whether top levels of Iran's government approved the transfer of weapons. Earlier in the week, the top U.S. military officer, General Peter Pace, told VOA that he had no evidence the Iranian government was involved in supplying the weapons found in Iraq.
U.S. military briefers in Baghdad had said the Iranian government was involved. President Bush also said his message to the Iranian people is that their government is making decisions that are isolating the country from the rest of the world.
Mr. Bush said an Iran armed with a nuclear weapon would be "very dangerous" to world peace.
