푸틴 대통령은 12일 카타르 국왕과 만난 자리에서 이 같은 의견을 밝혔습니다.
카타르와 러시아는 세계 1, 2위의 천연가스 생산국입니다.
푸틴 대통령은 최대 천연가스 생산국 간에 상대를 이해하고, 협력하는 것은 중요하다고 말했습니다. 그는 이어서 천연가스 관련 회의 참석을 위해 오는 4월 러시아 대표를 카타르에 파견하겠다고 덧붙혔습니다.
푸틴 대통령은 이틀간 사우디 아라바이를 방문한데 이어 중동 순방의 일환으로 카타르를 찾았습니다.

Russian President Vladimir Putin says a proposal to create a natural gas cartel requires further study.
Mr. Putin made the remarks during a visit to Qatar today (Monday), where he held talks with Qatar's emir (Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani).
Qatar and Russia are two of the world's largest producers of natural gas.
Mr. Putin said it is important for the top natural gas producers to understand each other and cooperate.
The Russian president said his country would send a delegation to Qatar in April for a conference on gas.
Mr. Putin arrived in Qatar after a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia as part of a Mideast tour.
