이란의 최고 지도자 아야톨라 알리 하메네이는 미국이 이란을 공격한다면 이란은 전세계 미국의 이해 시설을 공격함으로써 대응할 것이라고 말했습니다.
하메네이는 8일 “적은 이란이 어떠한 공격에도 총제적 대응을 할 것이라는 사실을 알고있다”고 이란 공군 지휘관들에게 말했습니다.
그는 “미국 정치인들과 분석가들은 이란 국민은 지금까지 한 번도 대응없는 공격을 허용하지 않았다는 것을 알고있다”고 말했습니다.
미국은 이란이 이라크에 혼란을 부추키고 민간용 핵 개발이라는 미명 하에 핵무기 개발을 추구하고 있다고 비난하고 있습니다. 한편 두 번째 미국 전투기가 이란 근역 으로 향하고 있습니다.
하지만 로버트 게이츠 미 국방장관은 8일 미국은 이란과 전쟁을 치룰 의사가 없다고 말했습니다.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali says if attacked by the United States, Iran will respond by striking U.S. interests all over the world.
Speaking to Iranian air force commanders (today / Thursday), the ayatollah said "the enemy knows well that the Iranian nation will give a comprehensive response to any aggression."
He said "American politicians and analysts know that Iranian people have never allowed any aggression go unanswered."
The United States has been increasing pressure on Iran, accusing it of meddling in Iraq and of seeking to develop nuclear weapons under the guise of a civilian nuclear program. A second U.S. aircraft carrier is heading to waters near Iran.
But Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Friday the United States has no plan for war with Iran.
