이란의 최고 지도자 아야톨라 알리 하메네이는 미국이 이란을 공격하면 이란은 전세계 미국관련 시설들을 보복공격할 것이라고 말했습니다.
하메네이는 8일 “이란은 어떠한 공격에도 총제적으로 대응할 것임을 적국은 알고있다”고 이란 공군 지휘관들에게 말했습니다.
미국은 최근 이란이 이라크 문제에 개입하고 또 핵무기를 개발하고 있다면서 이란에 압력을 가해왔습니다. 하지만 토니 스노우 백악관 대변인은 8일 기자들에게 미국은 이란을 침공하지 않을 것이라고 말했습니다.
한편, 이란 언론들은 8일 이란국경 지대에서 이스라엘과 미국의 간첩망이 암약하고 있음을 정부가 알게됐다고 보도했습니다.
이란 정보국장은 간첩훈련을 받기 위해 출국하려한 이란인 여러 명이 당국에 체포되었다고 말한 것으로 현지 언론들이 인용보도했습니다.

Iran's supreme leader says if attacked by the United States, Iran will respond by striking U.S. interests all over the world.
Speaking to Iranian air force commanders (today / Thursday), Ayatollah Ali said "the enemy knows well that the Iranian nation will give a comprehensive response to any aggression."
The United States has been increasing pressure on Iran, accusing it of meddling in Iraq and of seeking to develop nuclear weapons. However, the White House spokesman (Tony Snow) told reporters today that, in his words, the U.S. is "not invading Iran."
Also today, Iranian media are reporting that Tehran has become aware of an Israeli-U.S. spy ring operating on Iranian border areas.
The media are quoting Iran's intelligence minister (Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejehe) who says Iran has arrested a number of Iranians who were trying to leave the country for espionage training.
