이라크 경찰은 1일 바그다드 카라다 지역의 한 소형버스에서 폭탄이 폭발해 적어도 6명이 숨지고 대 여섯명이 부상했다고 말했습니다.
경찰은 이번 폭발이 분주한 영업시간 중 시장 구역에서 발생한 자살폭탄으로 기인한 것인지는 즉각 확인되지 않고 있다고 말했습니다.
이와는 별도로 대부분 수니파로 구성된 이라크 북부의 아드하미야 구역에서 박격포 공격이 발생해 적어도 한 명이 숨지고 9명이 부상했습니다.
한편 이라크 내무부 관리들은 지난달 종파간 폭력과 저항세력의 공격으로 이라크 전역에서 거의 2천명이 사망했다고 말했습니다.
미군은 연합군이 이라크 전역에서 여러차례의 공격을 통해 한 명의 외국인 저항분자를 사살하고 29명의 테러 용의자들을 검거했다고 밝혔습니다.

Iraqi police say at least six people were killed and several others wounded when a bomb exploded in a minibus in Baghdad's Karrada district today (Thursday).
Police say is was not immediately clear whether a suicide bomber was responsible for the explosion, which occurred during a busy business hour (noon - local time) in the market district.
Separately, a mortar barrage hit the mostly Sunni Adhamiya district of northern Baghdad, killing at least one person and wounding nine others.
Meanwhile, Iraq's interior ministry officials said nearly two-thousand civilians were killed last month in sectarian and insurgent violence across the country. The figure is slightly higher than the (one-thousand-930) civilian deaths recorded (by the ministry) in December.
The U.S. military said coalition forces carried out a number of operations across Iraq, killing one foreign insurgent and detaining 29 suspects.
