일본 농무성은 올해들어 세번째로 치명적인 H5N1형 조류독감 바이러스가 발견됐다고 발표했습니다.
농무성은H5N1바이러스가 일본 서부 오카야마현에 있는 한 농장에서 발견됐다고 밝혔습니다.
관리들은 현재 남부 미야자키현에서도 H5N1바이러스가 발견됐을 가능성이 있어 그 결과를 기다리고 있다고 말하고 있습니다.
미야자키 현은 이전에도 H5N1바이러스가 발견됐던 지역입니다. 조류 독감은 지난 2003년 말 첫 발병한 이래 전세계, 주로 아시아지역에서 160여명의 목숨을 앗아갔습니다.

Japan's Agriculture Ministry has announced an outbreak of the H5N1 strain of bird flu, the third in Japan since the beginning of this year.
The ministry says the outbreak happened at a farm in western Japan's Okayama prefecture. Officials say they are waiting for test results of another possible outbreak of H5N1 in Miyazaki prefecture in southern Japan, the location of earlier outbreaks of the deadly virus.
Bird flu has killed around 160 people worldwide, mainly in Asia, since late 2003. No human infections have been reported in Japan.
The virus is usually spread through contact with infected birds, but experts fear it could mutate into a form that passes easily between people.
