The U.S. commander in Iraq has warned against expecting quick results from the new U.S.-Iraqi plan to improve security.
General George Casey told reporters in Baghdad Monday the overall success of the plan is not assured, and it will take months to show results.
The plan -- announced last week by President Bush -- calls for the deployment of more than 20-thousand additional U.S. troops to Iraq.
General Casey said he believes Iraqi political leaders are strongly committed to the effort. But he acknowledged there are still difficulties with the organization of Iraqi security forces.
In other news, a suicide car bomb has exploded in the northern city of Mosul near the office of a Kurdish political party (KDP), killing at least six people and wounding at least 28 more.
