베트남은 11일 세계무역기구 WTO 의 150번째 회원국으로 공식 가입했습니다. 베트남이 WTO 가입협상을 시작한지 10여년 만에 이룬 성과입니다.
베트남이WTO에 가입함으로써 앞으로 수출이 보다 수월해지고 국내투자가 늘어날 것으로 예상됩니다.
베트남은 WTO에 가입하는 조건으로 여러 산업들에 지급되는 정부보조금을 중단하고 1천8백여개 수입품에 대한 관세율을 낮추기로 약속했다고 관리들은 전했습니다.
베트남은 30년 전에 전쟁을 치룬 이후 주로 석유와 직물, 신발, 쌀, 해산물, 커피 등을 수출하면서 경제를 살렸습니다.

Vietnam has joined the World Trade Organization, becoming the group's 150th member.
Its accession to the global trade body today (Thursday), after more than a decade of negotiations, will make it easier for the country to sell its goods abroad and boost investment at home.
Vietnamese officials say they have committed to give up a range of industrial subsidies and to reduce import taxes on some 18-hundred categories of goods. Subsidies and import taxes are designed to protect local industries.
The nation's 84 million people have managed to successfully recover from the war that devastated the country three decades ago, by exporting oil, textiles, footwear, rice, seafood and coffee.
Those industries have helped Vietnam become Asia's best-performing economy after China.
