한국의 평창 등 3개 도시가 2014년 동계올림픽 개최 신청서를 최종적으로 공식 제출했습니다. 스위스 로잔에 있는 국제올림픽위원회는 10일 신청 마감 현황을 공개했습니다.
러시아 소치와 한국 평창이 각각 8, 9일에 개최 신청서를 제출했으며, 마감일인 이 날 오스트리아 잘츠부르크가 마지막으로 유치 경쟁에 합류했습니다.
개최 신청서는 희망 도시의 관련 시설을 비롯해서 교통과 치안 상태, 재정 상황 등의 내용을 담고 있습니다.
국제올림픽위원회는 앞으로 몇 주에 걸쳐 각 신청 도시에 대한 방문 평가 작업을 벌이며, 각각의 장단점을 담은 보고서를 작성할 예정입니다.
한편, 2010년 동계올림픽은 캐나다 뱅쿠버에서 개최됩니다.

Three cities vying for the right to host the 2014 Winter Olympics have submitted their final bid documents to the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Salzburg, Austria was the last city to turn in its documentation by Wednesday's deadline. Sochi, Russia handed in the paperwork Monday while Pyeongchang, South Korea submitted documentation Tuesday.
The documents cover several topics, including venues, security, transportation and finances. The International Olympic Committee evaluation commission will visit each of the three cities in the next few weeks.
That panel will issue a report analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of each bid. Then, the host city will be selected when the IOC meets in Guatemala City July fourth.
