China and Chad have signed economic cooperation agreements worth 80-million dollars.
The deals follow two days of talks Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing held this week in Chad's capital, N'djamena. Under the agreements, China will provide the central African nation with loans and debt-relief.
The deals also give Chad a new source for economic development aid. Disagreements with oil companies and the World Bank last year led to the freezing of Chad's oil profits.
