국장 후 포드 전 대통령의 유해는 1월 2일에 워싱턴 대성당으로 옮겨진 뒤 같은 날 고향인 미시간주 그랜드 래피즈에 있는 포드 도서관으로 이송됩니다. 포드 전 대통령의 유해는3일 포드 도서관 인근에 안장될 예정입니다.
미국의 제38대 대통령이었던 포드 전 대통령은 올해 폐렴을 앓았으며 두 차례 심장수술도 받았습니다. 포드 전 대통령은 미국에서 유일하게 선거를 거치지않고 부통령과 대통령을 지냈습니다.

Preparations are underway for a state funeral for former U.S. President Gerald Ford, who died Tuesday at the age of 93.
Federal officials have announced five days of memorial services in Mr. Ford's honor, beginning with a private ceremony near his home in (the U.S. state of) California on Friday.
Mr. Ford's casket then will be flown to Washington where he will lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda. A state funeral will be held Saturday evening, followed by a funeral service at the National Cathedral in Washington on Tuesday.
The former president's body will then be taken to his hometown in (the U.S. state of) Michigan, where he will be buried at his presidential library Wednesday.
He was the only American to serve as both president and vice president without being elected to either office. Mr. Ford was appointed vice-president by former President Richard Nixon in 1973, and became the 38th president of the United States when Mr. Nixon resigned under threat of impeachment in 1974.
