니야조프 대통령의 시신을 담은 관은 이날 터키와 이란, 러시아, 미국등 외국의 조문 사절들이 참석한 가운데 그의 고향인 키프착에 매장됐습니다.
투르크 국민의 아버지로 불렸던 니야조프 대통령(66)은 투루크메니스탄에서 20년동안 장기집권했으며 뚜렷한 후계자를 남기지 않은 채 지난 21일 심장마비로 사망했습니다.

Turkmen buried autocratic leader Separmurat Niyazov in a lavish state funeral today (Sunday), amid political uncertainty in energy-rich Turkmenistan.
The 66-year-old authoritarian president, referred to at home as "Turkmenbashi" or "Father of all Turkmen," died of a heart attack Thursday without leaving a clear successor.
Mr. Niyazov's body was put on display in the Turkmenbashi palace in the capital, Ashgabat. After the viewing, the casket was taken 10 kilometers to the burial place at his home town of Kipchak.
Representatives from foreign governments, including Turkey, Iran, Russia and the United States, attended the funeral.
