집권당 하마스는 마흐무드 압바스 자치정부 수반의 파타당 소속 무장괴한들이 총리의 암살을 기도했다고 비난하고 있습니다. 이스마일 하니예 총리일행은 하루전인 14일 가자지구에서 이집트로 이동하던 중 총격을 받았으며, 이로 인해 경호원 1명이 숨졌습니다.
파타당은 암살 음모에 개입하지 않았다는 입장이고 압바스 수반도 이 사건에 대해 유감을 표명했습니다.
한편 15일 폭력 사태에도 불구하고 가자지구에서는 수만명의 하마스 지지자들이 하마스 창립 19주년 기념행진을 벌였습니다.

Rival Palestinian gunmen have clashed in Gaza and the West Bank city of Ramallah, a day after a deadly attack on the Palestinian prime minister's entourage.
Today's (Friday's) violence was the fifth day of clashes between the ruling group Hamas and the rival Fatah faction of President Mahmoud Abbas. At least 32 people were injured in today's unrest.
The clashes follow accusations from Hamas that Fatah gunmen tried to assassinate Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh. Gunfire killed the prime minister's bodyguard Thursday near the Egypt-Gaza border crossing.
Fatah denied involvement in the attack. President Abbas expressed regret for the incident.
Despite the violence, tens of thousand of Hamas supporters rallied in Gaza City today to mark the group's 19th anniversary. In a fiery speech, Mr. Haniyeh said Hamas members did not join the group to, in his words, "become ministers but rather to become martyrs."
