미국의 조지 부시 대통령은 대이라크 정책 수정안을 발표하기 앞서 다양한 출처로부터 나온 권고안들을 고려할 것이라고 말했습니다.
부시 대통령은 12일 이라크 주둔 미군 고위 관계관들과 화상 회담을 가질 계획입니다.
부시 대통령은 앞서 11일 워싱턴에서 딕 체니 부통령과, 콘돌리자 라이스 국무장관 그리고 다른 관계관들과 만났습니다.
이들 회담은 초당파적인 이라크정책검토위원회의 이라크 보고서가 발표된 뒤를 이어 열리고 있습니다. 이 보고서의 권고안들 가운데는 이란, 시리아와의 직접 회담과 오는 2008년 초까지 대부분의 미군 전투 병력을 철수시키는 안 등이 포함됩니다.
부시 대통령은 이라크 정책 변경에 관한 어떠한 결정도 내리기에 앞서 군, 그리고 다른 관계관들과의 협의를 계속할 것이라고 말했습니다.

President Bush says he will consider recommendations from various sources before announcing any change of policy on Iraq.
Mr. Bush will have videoconference discussion today (Tuesday) with senior U.S. military officials in Iraq. The conference is part of a series of meetings to provide the president with advice about Iraq.
Mr. Bush met Monday in Washington with Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and other officials.
The talks follow the release of a report on Iraq by the bipartisan Iraq Study Group. Its recommendations include direct talks with Iran and Syria, and withdrawing most U.S. combat troops by early 2008.
Mr. Bush says he is continuing consultations with the military and other officials before making any decision on a change in policy.
