이스마일 하니예 팔레스타인 총리는 하마스가 주도하는 팔레스타인 정부는 결코 이스라엘의 주권을 인정하지 않을 것이며 소위 팔레스타인들이 예루살렘을 해방할 때까지 저항을 계속할 것이라고 말했습니다.
하니예 총리는 이란의 테헤란에서 금요 기도를 마친 후 신도들에게 이렇게 말했습니다. 하니예 총리는 이란의 최고 성직자 아야톨라 알리 카메네이와 아흐무드 아마디네자드 대통령을 만나 회담을 가지기 위한 4일 일정의 공식 방문을 위해 7일 이란에 도착했습니다.
하마스의 주요 지원국인 이란은 서방의 지원 중단으로 인한 부족분을 보충하기 위해 팔레스타인 정부에 1억 2천 만 달러를 지원했습니다.
서방 국가들은 하마스가 지난 3월 권력을 장악한 이후 이들에게 이스라엘을 인정하고 이스라엘-팔레스타인 잠정 협정을 수용할 것을 요구하며 지원을 중단했습니다.
미국과 유럽연합 그리고 이스라엘은 하마스를 테러 단체로 간주하고 있으며 하마스는 이스라엘 타도를 촉구하고 있습니다.

Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh says his Hamas-led government will never recognize Israel and will continue resistance until the Palestinians, as he put it, "liberate" Jerusalem.
He was addressing worshippers in Tehran after Friday prayers. The Palestinian prime minister arrived in Tehran Thursday for a four-day official visit and meetings with Iran's Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Iran -- a key supporter of Hamas -- has provided 120-million dollars in aid to the Palestinian government to make up for the shortfall when western nations cut off assistance.
The West suspended aid after Hamas took power in March, demanding that the militant group recognize Israel and accept interim Israeli-Palestinian accords.
The United States, the European Union and Israel consider Hamas a terrorist organization. Hamas's charter calls for the destruction of Israel.
