프랑스 라디오 방송과의 대담에서 필리페 두스테 블라지 외무장관은 , 문제는 제재의 규모와 범위지만 제재는 반드시 있을 것이라고 강조했습니다.
앞서 5일 프랑스 외무부 성명은, 이란 핵문제와 관련해 세계 6개 주요 강대국이 꾸준한 진전을 거두고는 있으나, 대이란 유엔 결의안에 합의하는데는 실패했다고 말했습니다.이 같은 성명은 유엔 안보리 상임 이사국인 미국과 프랑스, 영국 러시아, 중국과 독일이 파리에서 비공개 회담을 가진데 이어 나온 것입니다.
중국과 러시아는 이란의 우라늄 농축활동 중단을 위해 유엔이 제시한 8월 31일의 마감시한을 거부하고 있는 이란에 대해 강력한 제재를 부과하는 것을 꺼려하고 있습니다.

The French foreign minister says Iran will face U.N. sanctions for its nuclear program, but their extent has yet to be decided.
Speaking on French radio (RTL) today (Wednesday), Philippe Douste-Blazy said "the question is about the scope of sanctions but there will be sanctions."
On Tuesday, a French Foreign Ministry statement said that six world powers made "substantive progress" but failed to agree on a U.N. resolution calling for sanctions against Iran.
The statement came after senior diplomats from the United States, France, Britain, Russia and China (the five permanent U.N. Security Council members) plus Germany held closed-door talks in Paris.
China and Russia have been reluctant to agree on tough sanctions against Iran, which defied an August 31st U.N. deadline to suspend its uranium enrichment program.
