한국군 당국은 4일 강원도 철원군 군사분계선 너머 북한측 지역에서 두 차례 큰 폭발음이 들렸다고 밝혔습니다.
한국군 합동참모 본부는 폭발음이 무엇 때문이었는지는 규명하지 못했다고 말했습니다.
이 지역에서는 군사훈련이나 건설, 광산업 등에 의한 폭발음이 정기적으로 들리고 있으나 지난 10월 북한이 첫 핵 실험을 실시한 이후 남북한군은 경계를 강화하고 있습니다

South Korean military officials say two large blasts were heard today (Monday) on North Korea's side of their heavily fortified border.
South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff office says it has not been able to identify the cause of the blasts. A spokesman said the possible explosions went off near the city of Cheolwon, located in the Demilitarized Zone dividing North and South Korea.
Explosions from military exercises, construction or mining operations are regularly heard in the area. But, soldiers on both sides of the border have been on heightened alert since North Korea conducted its first nuclear test last last October.
