91세의 고령인 피노체트 장군은 1973년 군사 쿠데타 당시 대통령을 축출하는 과정에서 벌어진 경호원 두 명의 살해와 관련된 혐의로 지난 주 가택연금 조치됐습니다.
피노체트 장군은 1973년부터 1990년 사이에 그가 통치하는 동안 정치적인 이유로 3천 여명이 살해되고 실종되는 등 수 많은 인권침해 사태와 관련된 혐의를 받고 있습니다.

Former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet has been hospitalized after suffering a serious heart attack.
Doctors at the Santiago Military Hospital say the general received the last rites from a priest early today (Sunday) following a medical procedure that rescued him from near death. The 91-year-old is now in serious, but stable condition.
General Pinochet has been accused of committing numerous human rights violations during his rule from 1973 to 1990. More than three-thousand people were killed for political reasons or disappeared during that time.
