일본을 방문중인 엘바라데이 사무총장은 30일 도쿄에서 가진 강연에서 국제사회는 핵확산을 방지하기 위해 협력해야한다고 강조했습니다.
엘바라데이 사무총장은 이후 아소 다로 일본 외상과 만나 결렬 상태인 북핵 6자회담 문제를 논의했습니다. 엘바라데이 사무총장과 아소 외상은 북한이 IAEA의 핵사찰을 허용해야 한다는데 이견을 같이 했다고 일본 외무성 관리들은 전했습니다.

The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) says North Korea's recent nuclear device test highlights the need to control the spread of uranium enrichment.
IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei says the international community must cooperate to prevent nuclear proliferation. He spoke during a lecture today (Thursday) in Tokyo.
ElBaradei later met with Japan's foreign minister to discuss the stalled six-party talks over North Korea's nuclear program.
Japanese ministry officials say ElBaradei and Foreign Minister Taro Aso agreed it is necessary for North Korea to accept inspections by the atomic agency.
