버마 군사정부는 가택연금중인 야당 지도자 아웅산 수지 여사의 건강상태가 양호하다고 말했습니다.
앞서 수지 여사를 방문했던 유엔 특사는 그녀의 건강이 좋지 못하다고 말한 바 있습니다.
버마 군사 정부의 킨예 여단장은 29일 기자들에게 아웅산 수지 여사는 한달에 한번씩 의사를 만나고 있으며 그녀는 의사를 만나는 횟수를 더 요구하지 않았다고 말했습니다.
앞서 수지 여사를 방문했던 이브라힘 감바리 유엔 특사는 버마정부가 그녀에게 의사를 만나는 횟수를 더 늘려야 한다고 말했습니다.

Burma's military government says detained opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi is in good health, contrary to comments from a U.N. envoy who recently visited the pro-democracy activist.
Burma Brigadier General Khin Yee told reporters Wednesday that Aung San Suu Kyi sees her doctor once a month and has made no additional requests to see him.
The general was responding to comments made by U.N. Under Secretary Ibrahim Gambari who visited with the detained leader November 11th. Following his meeting, Gambari told reporters Burmese leaders should allow her to see her doctor more regularly.
Aung San Suu Kyi has been held under house arrest for about ten of the past 17 years. She is generally not allowed outside and her doctor is one of her only connections to the outside world.
