Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has harshly criticized the Middle East policies of the Bush administration in an open letter to the American people.
In the letter released at the United Nations today (Wednesday), Mr. Ahmadinejad deplored in particular U.S. support for Israel and the U.S. military presence in Iraq.
The Iranian president said the United States has, in his words, "persistently provided blind and blanket support" to Israel -- despite the suffering of the Palestinian people.
He also said the pain and suffering of the Iraqi people has persisted and even been aggravated during the U.S. occupation of Iraq.
President Bush has stated repeatedly that he considers Iran to be a threat to world peace because of its alleged program to develop nuclear weapons.
