Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi fainted today (Sunday) while delivering an address to political supporters at a town near Florence.
The 70-year-old media magnate was later reported to be recovering, and a spokesman said Mr. Berlusconi was returning home.
Television footage showed Mr. Berlusconi at a podium suddenly speaking with difficulty and slowly collapsing in front of a microphone.
A half hour later, Mr. Berlusconi was seen waving and walking without assistance toward a waiting limousine.
Berlusconi, who is Italy's richest man, left office in April after his center-right coalition lost elections to Romano Prodi, who now heads the center-left government.
