Israel has rejected a proposal from Palestinian militants to stop rocket attacks in exchange for an end to Israeli offensives in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Palestinian miliant factions offered the limited ceasefire late Thursday. But an Israeli government spokeswoman said the offer could not be taken seriously.
Israel says it will continue military operations in Gaza to stop rocket attacks. The attacks have killed two Israelis in the past week.
Meanwhile, Palestinian officials say Israeli troops killed two Palestinians, including a young boy, today (Friday) in northern Gaza.
