유럽연합은 이번 공격을 규탄하고 모든 당사국들에게 레바논을 교란시킬 행동을 피하도록 촉구했습니다.
토니 블레어 영국 총리는 이번 사건은 민주주의와 분쟁의 올바른 해법의 지지자들을 위한 중동전략이 절대적으로 그리고 시급히 필요하다는 점을 분명히 나타냈다고 말했습니다.
쟈크 시라크 프랑스 대통령도 성명을 통해 이번 사건은 극악무도한 공격이었다면서 암살범들을 추적해서 처벌시켜야한다고 강조했습니다.

The international community is condemning the assassination of Lebanese cabinet minister Pierre Gemayel. The European Union condemned the attack and called on all parties to avoid actions that would destabilize the country.
In Britain, Prime Minister Tony Blair said the killing shows the need for a Middle East strategy that supports those who favor democracy. French President Jacques Chirac called for the killers to be pursued and punished.
U.S. Under Secretary of State Nicholas Burns said the attack was part of a pattern of violence and assassination in Lebanon's political history. At the United Nations, U.S. Ambassador John Bolton said the killing highlights the need for the quick establishment of a special tribunal for Lebanon.
The proposed court would try suspects in last year's assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan praised Gemayel as someone who believed strongly in an independent, democratic and united Lebanon.
He added the killing came one day after the U.N. Security Council discussed the Lebanon tribunal.
