한국의 반기문 차기 유엔 사무총장이 유엔 인수 작업을 위해 뉴욕에 도착했습니다.
반기문 전 외교통상부 장관은 16일 유엔본부에서 유엔총회 의장과 만났습니다.
반 차기 유엔사무총장은 그후 미국의 소리 방송과의 회견에서 유엔사무총장 직을 인수받는 가운데 해야할 일이 많다고 말했습니다. 반 전 장관은 다음 주에 퇴임을 앞둔 코피 아난 유엔사무총장을 포함해 수많은 유엔 주재 대사들과 만날 계획이라고 밝혔습니다.
반 전 장관은 올해 말에 유엔사무총장직을 인수받게됩니다.

Former South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-Moon has arrived in New York to begin preparations for his new job as U.N. secretary-general.
Ban met at U.N. headquarters on Thursday with the president of the U.N. General Assembly (Sheikha Haya Rashed Al Khalifa).
He later told VOA he has much work to do as he makes the transition to secretary-general. He said he will meet next week with outgoing Secretary-General Kofi Annan and many U.N. ambassadors. Ban also said he will be interviewing candidates for the post of deputy secretary-general.
Ban will take over as secretary-general at the end of this year.
