미국에서 공부하는 외국인 유학생이 계속 증가하고 있습니다.
국제교육연구소의 13일 발표에 따르면 올해 가을 학기에 미국 대학교에 등록한 외국인 학생은 모두 14만명으로 전년도에 비해 8% 늘어났습니다.
국제교육연구소는 인도 출신 유학생이 7만6000명으로 가장 많았으며 중국과 한국이 각각 6만2000, 5만9000명으로 뒤를 이었습니다. 한편 외국인 학생이 가장 많은 지역인 캘리포니아주였습니다.
한편 해외에서 유학하는 미국 학생의 수도 20만명으로 8% 증가했습니다. 미국 학생에에 인기있는 나라는 영국, 이태리, 스페인, 코스타리카, 일본, 칠레, 남아프리카, 아르헨티나, 브라질, 인도 등이었습니다.

A U.S.-based non-profit group reports an increase in the number of foreign students studying in the United States.
The Institute of International Education said today (Monday) that U.S. colleges and universities reported an eight-percent increase in new foreign students for the 2005-2006 school year, with more than 140-thousand enrolled for the fall semester.
The increase follows several years of weak numbers after the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001.
The group says the top country of origin is India, with more than 76-thousand students, followed by China with more than 62-thousand, and South Korea with nearly 59-thousand. It said the top destination is (the state of) California.
The group also says the number of U.S. students studying abroad has increased eight-percent to more than 200-thousand. It says the top choices for American students include Britain, Italy, Spain, Costa Rica, Japan, Chile, South Africa, Argentina, Brazil and India.
