유엔의 버마 인권문제 특사로 버마를 방문한 이브라힘 감바리 유엔 사무차장은 이번 버마 방문이 매우 만족스러운 것이라고 말했습니다.
감바리 특사는 12일, 버마 민주화운동 지도자, 아웅 산 수 지 민족민주동맹 당수 면담을 끝으로 나흘 일정의 버마 방문을 마치면서 이같이 말했습니다.
감바리 특사는 버마 군사정권의 지도자 탄 쉐 장군과 솔직하고 광범위한 회담을 가졌다고 밝혔습니다.
아웅 산 수 지 당수는 감바리 특사에게 자신의 건강하지만 좀더 정기적으로 진료를 받을 필요가 있다고 말한 것으로 유엔 관계관들이 전했습니다.

A top U.N. envoy says he is very satisfied with his visit to military-ruled Burma, where he met detained democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
Ibrahim Gambari wrapped up his four-day visit to Burma today (Sunday), completing his second trip to the country this year.
The United Nations says Gambari held frank and extensive talks with the country's leader, General Than Shwe.
On Saturday, the U.N. envoy met Aung San Suu Kyi, the secretary-general of the National League for Democracy who has been under house arrest for 11 of the past 17 years. The pair also met in May.
U.N. officials say the activist told Gambari she is in good health but needs more regular medical visits.
