아프가니스탄에서 탈레반 주도의 폭력이 확대되는 가운데 유엔 안전보장이사회의 고위급 대표단이 11일 아프간 수도 카불에 도착했습니다.
일본의 오시마 겐조 유엔 대사가 이끄는 이 대표단은 4일간의 방문중에 아프간의 하미드 카르자이 대통령과 관계관들과 회담을 가질 예정입니다.
유엔 대표단은 또한 폭력이 집중되고 있는 남부 아프가니스탄지역도 방문할 예정입니다.
지난 2001년 말에 탈레반이 권좌에서 축출된 이후 미국과 아프간, 나토 군이 아프가니스탄에서 탈레반 잔당들과 전투를 계속하고 있습니다.

A high-level delegation from the United Nations Security Council is in Kabul for talks on how to establish stability in Afghanistan following an upsurge in Taleban-led violence.
The delegation is headed by Japan's U.N. ambassador (Kenzo Oshima). It plans to meet with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and other officials during a four-day visit.
The U.N. team is also scheduled to travel to southern Afghanistan, where the violence has been concentrated.
U.S., Afghan and NATO troops have been battling remnants of the Taleban since the militant group was ousted from power in late 2001.
