호주를 방문중인 힐 차관보는 29일 시드니에서 호주의 군사 능력은 유엔안보리의 대북한 제재를 실행하는데 있어 중요하다고 말했습니다.
호주는 이미 유엔안보리의 대북 제재 결의안 이행의 일환으로 북한을 오가는 선박들을 검색하기 위해 전함을 지원하겠다고 밝힌 바 있습니다.
한편 할 차관보는 북한 정부의 핵실험에 따른 중국의 대북 압박 조치에 대해 찬사를 보내며 중국이 큰 걸음을 내디뎠다고 말했습니다.

Washington's top envoy on North Korean affairs says the United States is looking to Australia to help hold Pyongyang accountable for its nuclear test.
U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill said (at a forum organized by The Sydney Institute) in Sydney today (Sunday) the Australian military capability would be important in enforcing U.N. sanctions against North Korea.
Canberra has already offered to provide a warship to help inspect cargo vessels heading to or from North Korea as part of any U.N. sanctions.
The U.N. Security Council voted earlier this month to impose financial and military sanctions on Pyongyang after the secretive government staged its first nuclear test on October ninth.
Separately today (Sunday), Hill praised China for the pressure it put on North Korea following the nuclear test.
