유럽 연합의 하비에르 솔라나 외교정책 대표는 26일 이스라엘과 팔레스타인은 중동 평화 협상의 재개를 돕기위한 추가 절차들을 밟아야 한다고 촉구했습니다.
솔라나 대표는 이날 이스라엘의 텔 아비브에서 트지피 리브니 이스라엘 외무장관과 회담을 가진뒤 이렇게 말했습니다. 솔라나 대표는 유럽 연합 국가들은 중동 평화 협상이 교착상태에 빠진것으로 체감하고 있다며 그러나 유럽 연합은 과거 어느때보다 평화 협상에 참여할 준비가 돼있다고 말했습니다.
솔라나 대표는 또 유럽연합은 이스라엘과 팔레스타인 양측으로부터 갈등을 해결하기 위한 움직임을 더 볼 수 있기를 바란다고 덧붙였습니다.

European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana has urged Israel and the Palestinians to take more steps to help restart the Middle East peace process. Solana made his plea (Thursday) after a meeting with Israel's Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni in Tel Aviv.
He said that while Europeans have the feeling that the peace process is "stalling," they are more committed than ever to the peace process. Solana also said the EU would like to see more movement by both sides to resolve their ongoing disputes.
The EU foreign policy chief is continuing his six-day visit to the Middle East, traveling to the West Bank to meet with Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas. Meanwhile, Palestinian medics say Israeli troops operating in the Gaza Strip killed two Palestinians in separate incidents.
