이 날 바그다드에서는 폭탄 공격으로 적어도 8명이 숨졌습니다. 또 미군 당국은 연합군이 모술에서 작전을 벌이던 중 12세 소년이 숨진 것에 대해 조사하고 있다고 말했습니다. 미군은 이 날 작전으로 테러 용의자를 체포했다고 발표했습니다.
한편 이라크 당국은 시아트 무장세력과 경찰 사이에 심각한 충돌이 있었던 남부 아마라 시에 계엄령을 선포했습니다.
누리 알-말리키 총리는 이라크 군대가 어떤 위법 행위에 대해서도 대응하라는 명령을 받았다고 경고했습니다.
말리키 총리의 성명은 시아트 승려 목타다 알-사드르가 이끄는 마디 무장세력에 대한 것으로 경고로 보입니다.

Normally crowded Sunni mosques reported a major decline in worshipers today (Monday) on the holiday marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
At least eight people were killed in several bombing attacks today in Baghdad. The U.S. military says it is investigating the death of a 12-year-old boy who was killed by gunfire during a coalition raid in Mosul today. The military says a suspected terrorist was detained during the raid.
Iraqi authorities also imposed a curfew in the tense southern city of Amara following clashes between Shi'ite militias and security forces last week.
In a written statement, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki warned that the army has been ordered to confront any transgression against the law. His warning appeared aimed at the Mahdi militia loyal to radical Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, which was involved in the Amara clashes.
Iraqi Shi'ites are to mark Eid al-Fitr on Tuesday or Wednesday.
