이라크 정부는 키르쿠크 지역에서 몇 건의 동시다발적인 차량 폭탄 공격으로 11명이 숨지고, 65명이 부상을 입었다고 발표했습니다. 키르쿠크는 이라크 북부의 유정 도시입니다.
이라크 경찰에 따르면 15일 키르쿠크에서 모두 7건의 폭탄 공격이 발생했으며, 이 중 3건은 자살 공격이었습니다. 또한 2건의 공격은 인파가 붐비는 시장과 여학교 부근에 행해졌습니다.
한편 바그다드 동부에서도 내무부 관리의 차량 행렬를 노린 폭탄 공격으로 적어도 4명이 숨졌습니다. 정부 관리들은 무사했습니다.
바그다그 북쪽에 위치한 발라드 시 병원 관계자들은 14일 무장 세력의 공격으로 30명의 수니파 주민들이 숨졌다고 말했습니다.
한편 미군 당국도 14일 바그다드 남부 도로에서 벌어진 폭탄 공격으로 차량을 타고 정찰 중이던 미군 3명이 숨졌다고 말했습니다. 10월 들어 이라크에서 숨진 미군 병사는 최소한 40명에 달합니다.

Iraqi police say a series of near-simultaneous car bombings in Kirkuk has killed at least 11 people and wounded another 65 in the oil-rich northern city.
Police in Kirkuk say seven bombs exploded early today (Sunday). Three were suicide attacks. One bomb went off near a crowded market and another near a girls' school.
Elsewhere, in eastern Baghdad, at least four people were killed by a roadside bomb that targeted the convoy of an Interior Ministry official. The official was unharmed.
In Balad, north of the capital, hospital officials say militiamen killed at least 30 Sunnis on Saturday in apparent sectarian revenge attacks.
Meanwhile, the U.S. military says a roadside bomb killed three American soldiers (Saturday) as they patrolled in a vehicle south of Baghdad.
At least 40 American troops have been killed in Iraq this month.
