Zhang Yin's recycling business buys scrap paper in the United States, ships it to China and converts it to sturdy packaging material (containerboard).
The Hurun Report, based in Shanghai, says 49-year-old Zhang appears to be the world's richest self-made woman (woman who started her own business).
Her (three-point-four-billion-dollar) fortune comes principally from her 72-percent ownership of the firm she started, Nine Dragons Paper Company.
Zhang ranked 36th in last year's "China Rich List," but her wealth has increased enormously since her company's shares went public (were sold to the public) for the first time in March.
