Officials say the British commander of NATO troops in Afghanistan met with Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf today (Tuesday) to discuss cooperation in the battle against the Taleban.
General David Richards met with Mr. Musharraf in the town of Rawalpindi amid growing concern about the Taleban insurgency.
Officials have denied a report in Britain's "Sunday Times" newspaper that Richards would present Mr. Musharraf with evidence that Pakistani intelligence is supporting the Taleban.
Afghan officials have repeatedly said that Taleban remnants hiding in Pakistan cross the border to stage attacks.
