독일 베를린 국제마라톤 대회에서 남자부의 에티오피아 선수들이 나란히 1,2위를 차지했습니다.
에티오피아의 하일레 게브레셀라시에 선수는 24일, 2시간 5분56초의 기록으로 우승을 차지했으나 2003년 케냐의 폴 테르가트 선수가 세운2시간4분55초의 세계신기록을 넘지는 못했습니다.
역시 에티오피아의 셴테마 쿠다마 선수는 1위보다 거의 5분이나 늦은 2시간10분43초로 2위에 머물렀고 일본의 우메키 쿠라오 선수는 2시간 13분43초로 3위를 기록했습다.
한편, 여자부에서도 에티오피아의 케테 와미 선수가 2시간21분 34초로 우승했습니다.

Haile Gebrselassie of Ethiopia has won the Berlin Marathon in Germany, but failed to to break the world record on the same flat course where five world records have been set in nine years.
Gebrselassie completed the 42-point-two kilometer race in two hours, five minutes and 56 seconds on Sunday. Shentema Kudama of Ethiopia finished second almost five minutes slower (2:10:43) with Kurao Umeki of Japan third another three minutes back (2:13:43).
Gete Wami of Ethiopia won the women's race in two hours, 21 minutes and 34 seconds.
