헝가리의 페렌츠 주르차니 총리는 사임을 재차 거부하고 자신의 정책을 고수하기 위해 투쟁할 것이라고 다짐했습니다.
24일 공개된 한 대담에서 주르차니 총리는 다음 주에 실시될 지방 선거는 최근 스캔달로 흔들리고 있는 자신의 거국 정부와는 아무런 연관도 없다고 말했습니다.
앞서 23일 2만여명의 시위자들은 부다페스트 국회의사당 앞 광장에 모여 계속 집권하기 위해 국내 경제 상황에 대해 거짓말을 했다고 시인한 주르차니 총리에 반대하는 시위를 벌였습니다.
부다페스트에서는 더 많은 시위가 벌어질 것으로 보이고 있습니다.
주르차니 총리에 대한 사퇴 촉구는 주르차니 총리가 국내 경제 상황과 관련해 최근 몇 년 동안 국민들에게 거듭 거짓말을 했음을 시인하는 내용의 녹음 테이프가 공개된 뒤에 시작됐습니다.

Hungarian Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany has again refused to resign and has promised to fight for his policies.
In an interview published today (Sunday), Mr. Gyurcsany said next week's municipal elections have nothing to do with his national government, which has been rocked by a recent scandal.
On Saturday, about 20-thousand demonstrators gathered in Budapest's parliament square to demonstrate against the Hungarian leader, who has admitted to lying about the nation's economy to remain in power.
More protests are expected in Budapest.
Calls for Mr. Gyurcsany to step down began after he was heard on a leaked audio tape admitting that he lied repeatedly for years about the state of the country's economy.
