IMF 재정위원회 위원장인 고든 브라운 영국 재무장관은 17일, 싱가포르에서 19일부터 이틀 동안 열리는 IMF 연차총회에서 한국 등 네 나라의 IMF 지분증액안이 상정될 것이라고 밝혔습니다.
한국 등 네 나라의 의결권 확대시키기 위한 이 제안은 네 나라의 지분증액을 반영하는 것으로 여전히 184개 회원국들의 투표를 거쳐야 합니다.

Policymakers from the International Monetary Fund have proposed reforms to give China, South Korea, Mexico and Turkey more influence in the global body.
British Treasury Chief Gordon Brown, who chairs the International Monetary and Financial Committee, revealed the suggested reforms in Singapore today (Sunday).
The I.M.F.'s 184 members must still vote on the proposal, which aims to boost the four nations' voting power to better reflect their growing share in the global economy.
