인도의 맘모한 싱 총리는 정보 기관들이 자국의 핵 시설물들을 비롯해 경제 및 종교적 목표물들을 대상으로 한 테러 공격 가능성을 경고했다고 밝혔습니다.
인도 수도 뉴델리에서 5일 가진 비상 내각 회의에서 싱 총리는, 정보 기관들은 또 인도의 일부 도심 지역에 잠재적 테러 분자들이 있음도 시사했다고 말했습니다.
싱총리는 이 같은 경고 위협은 외부 불순 세력과 자국내 테러 분자들의 직접적인 활동이 증가하고 있어 믿을만한 것으로 보인다고 말했습니다.
인도의 최고 보안 관리들과 각부처 장관들이 참석한 가운데 열린 이날 회의는 테러 발생에 대비한 안보 전략과, 연방 및 주 정부 당국간의 협조 강화를 촉구하기 위해 소집됐습니다.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh says intelligence agencies are warning of possible terrorist attacks aimed at economic and religious targets as well as the country's nuclear installations.
Speaking at an internal security meeting in New Delhi today (Tuesday), Mr. Singh said intelligence also suggests there are terrorist "sleeper cells" in some of India's urban areas.
He said the threat appears credible because of what he called "increasing activities of externally inspired and directed terrorist outfits within the country."
India's top security officials and chief ministers of states attended today's meeting, called to review security strategies and improve coordination between the federal and state authorities in the event of a terrorist attack.
Nearly two months ago, a series of bombings on commuter trains in India's financial hub, Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay), killed 186 people.
India blamed the bombings on Islamic militants with links across the border in Pakistan. Pakistan denies any involvement.
