짐바브웨노조회의, 웰링턴 치베베 사무총장은 노조소속 근로자들에 대한 임금인상과 세금인하 및 후천성면역결핍증, 에이즈 환자와 에이즈 바이러스 감염자들에 대한 치료약 제공 등을 요구한다며 노조가 오는 13일, 전국적인 시위를 벌일 계획이라고 발표한 바 있습니다.
짐바브웨 노조회의는 야당인 민주개혁운동과 긴밀한 관계를 맺고 있습니다. 짐바브웨 국민들은 고도의 실업률과 거의 1천 퍼센트에 달하는 인플레이션으로 시달리고 있습니다.

Police in Zimbabwe have warned the country's largest trade union against holding demonstrations this month to protest the increasing hardships people face in the impoverished nation.
Police officials today (Sunday) said they are prepared to deal with any unlawful acts. Demonstrating without police clearance is illegal in Zimbabwe.
Earlier, the general secretary of the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions, Wellington Chibebe, said the union plans to organize nationwide demonstrations on September 13th. He said union workers want higher wages, lower taxes, and increased access to antiretroviral drugs for workers living with H.I.V. and AIDS.
The union has close ties to the opposition Movement for Democratic Change.
Zimbabwe is struggling with high unemployment and record inflation of at least one-thousand percent.
