한국과 중국은 북한이 핵무기 실험을 하지 않도록 협력하기로 합의했다고 한국의 송민순 청와대 통일외교안보 정책실장이 말했습니다.
송민순 실장은 25일, 북한 미사일 및 핵문제 등 협의차 중국을 방문하고 귀국해 이같이 말하고 북한이 핵실험을 실시한다면 이는 지난 달의 미사일 시험발사보다 더 중대한 상황이기 때문에 한국과 중국은 그러한 상황이 일어나지 않도록 협력할 계획이라고 밝혔습니다.
송민순 실장은 그러나 이틀 동안의 중국 방문에서 논의된 내용을 더 이상 구체적으로 밝히지는 않았습니다. 한국은 북한의 핵무기 획득 추구에 대해 국제사회가 확고한 태도를 취하도록 촉구하고 있으나 북핵문제로 북한을 지나치게 압박하는 것은 반대하고 있습니다.

The chief security advisor to South Korea's president says Seoul and Beijing have agreed to cooperate to try to prevent North Korea from conducting a nuclear weapons test.
Song Min-soon said (late Friday) if North Korea carried out a nuclear test, it would create a situation more grave than its test-firing of missiles last month. He said South Korea and China plan to prevent that from happening. Song, who did not elaborate, returned from a two-day visit to Beijing on Friday.
North Korea test-fired seven missiles July fifth, and a recent U.S. media report (on ABC News) said the country may be preparing to test nuclear weapons underground.
Diplomatic efforts to lure North Korea back to multilateral nuclear talks have intensified over the past month. But South Korea's foreign minister (Ban Ki-moon) says the chances of resuming the talks have declined.
