현재 25개 유럽 연합의 의장국인 핀란드는 유럽연합 외무 장관들이 25일 긴급회담을 가지고 남부 레바논에 파병될 유엔 평화 유지군에 관해 논의 할 것이라고 말했습니다.
한편 이탈리아는 3천명의 자국국 병력을 유엔 평화유지군의 일부로 레바논에 파견해 이스라엘이 휴전 협정을 준수하도록 할 지도 모른다고 마시모 달레마 외무장관이 밝혔습니다.
달레마 외무장관은 헤즈볼라에게 무기를 포기하라고 하는 요구는 옳은 것이라고 말하고, 이탈리아는 그러나, 이스라엘 병력이 전투를 계속하면 이탈리아는 자국군을 파견할 수 없다고 강조했습니다.

Italy says it will contribute up to three thousand troops to the U.N. force. But Foreign Minister Massimo D'Alema (in an interview with Italy's La Repubblica newspaper) said Italy cannot send troops while Israel "continues to fire."
In a meeting today with the U.N. envoy, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Israel will lift its blockade of Lebanon once international peacekeepers are deployed at Beirut's international airport and at Lebanon's frontier with Syria.
