앞서 19일 이스라엘군은 팔레스타인의 나쎄르 알-샤에르 부총리를 요르단강 서안에 있는 그의 자택에서 연행해 갔습니다. 이스라엘 대변인은 알-샤에르 부총리가 하마스 소속이기 때문에 수감했다고 말했습니다.
하마스는 올해 초 팔레스타인 총선에서 압승했지만 이스라엘과 미국, 유럽 연합은 하마스를 일종의 테러 단체로 간주하고 있습니다.
한편 팔레스타인 관계관들은 이스라엘군이 20일 요르단강 서안의 한 검문소 부근에서 팔레스타인인 한명에게 총격을 가해 살해했다고 말했습니다.
이들 관계관은 이스라엘군이 나불러스 시 부근의 검문소를 통과하려던 팔레스타인인이 탄 차량을 향해 발포했다고 전했습니다.

The Israeli army has detained another top official of the Palestinians' governing Hamas party.
Witnesses say Israeli forces took Mahmoud al-Ramahi, the secretary of the Palestinian parliament, into custody in the West Bank today (Sunday).
On Saturday, Israeli forces arrested Palestinian Deputy Prime Minister Nasser al-Shaer at his West Bank home.
An Israeli spokesman says he was detained because he is a member of Hamas, which won Palestinian elections early this year but is considered a terrorist group by Israel, the United States and the European Union.
Meanwhile, Palestinian officials say Israeli troops shot and killed a Palestinian near a checkpoint in the West Bank today (Sunday).
They say the Israeli soldiers opened fire on the man's vehicle when it tried to bypass a checkpoint near the city of Nablus.
