인도 주재 미국 대사관은 앞으로 몇일 안에 뉴델리와 뭄바이에서 테러 공격이 벌어질 가능성이 있다고 경고했습니다.
미국 대사관은 11일 인도에 거주하는 미국인들에게 이 같은 테러 음모설에 관한 전자우편을 보냈습니다. 미국대사관은 인도 독립기념일인 8 월 15일에 즈음해서 그 같은 테러 공격이 계획된 것으로 믿고 있다면서 공격 대상에는 공항들과 인도 정부 청사 등이 포함될 수 있다고 말했습니다.
미국 대사관은 영국발 미국행 여객기 폭파 음모 혐의로 여러 용의자들을 검거했다고 영국이 발표한 지 하루만에 이같이 경고했습니다.

The U.S. Embassy in India is warning of likely terror attacks in New Delhi and Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay) in the coming days.
The embassy sent an e-mail to Americans living in India today (Friday) about the alleged plot. It says the attacks were believed to be planned for around India's August 15th Independence Day. It says targets could include airports and Indian government offices.
Embassy spokesman David Kennedy says Americans in India should keep a low profile over the coming days.
The embassy issued the warning one day after Britain announced it had arrested several suspects in an alleged plot to blow up passenger planes flying from Britain to the United States.
