유엔 안전보장이사회가 일요일인 6일 다시 열려 이스라엘과 헤즈볼라 무장세력 간의 전면적인 적대행위 중단을 요구하는 결의안 초안을 협의합니다.
미국과 프랑스가 제안한 이 결의안은 며칠 안에 표결에 부쳐질 예정입니다. 결의안은 헤즈볼라 무장세력에 대해 이스라엘에 대한 모든 공격을 중단하도록 촉구하는 한편 이스라엘에 대해서도 모든 공세적인 군사활동을 즉각 중단하도록 요구하고 있습니다.
결의안은 또 레바논 내 모든 무장세력에 대해 무장을 해제할 것을 요구하고 있습니다. 이와 관련해 레바논 관리들은 이 결의안은 이스라엘에 대해 레바논에서 병력을 철수하도록 촉구하고 있지 않다면서 수정을 요구할 것이라고 말했습니다.
한편 이란 국영언론들은 마흐무드 아마디네자드 이란 대통령이 바샤르 알-아사드 시리아 대통령에게 전화를 걸어 이번 사태의 중재노력에 대해 협의했다고 보도했습니다. 아사드 대통령은 다마스쿠스에서 전투종식 방안에 대해 아무르 무사 아랍연맹 사무총장과 회담했습니다.

The U.N. Security Council will reconvene today (Sunday) to consider a draft resolution calling for a full cessation of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
A vote on the draft introduced by the United States and France could be held in coming days.
The measure calls for an immediate end to Hezbollah attacks on Israel and a stop to offensive military operations by Israel. It also urges the "disarmament of all armed groups in Lebanon."
Lebanese officials have criticized the draft for failing to require Israel to withdraw its forces from Lebanon.
Iranian state media reports that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad phoned his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad to discuss mediation efforts.
In Damascus, Mr. Assad also held talks with Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa about ways to end fighting.
