이라크 당국은 30일 이라크 전역에서 저항세력의 공격으로 최소한 5명이 사망했다고 밝혔습니다. 키르쿠크에서는 한 주유소 부근에서 차량폭탄 공격으로 3명이 사망했고, 바그다드 북부에서도 두 건의 공격이 발생해 경찰관 1명을 포함해 2명이 사망했습니다. 바그다드에서는 또 폭발사건으로 12명이 부상을 입기도 했습니다.
한편 이라크 군이 바그다드 서부지역을 급습해 잘 알려진 외국인 전사 1 명을 생포했다고 미군이 밝혔습니다. 미군은 성명에서 생포된 전사의 신원을 공개하지 않은 채 그가 바그다드와 팔루자 내 외국인 전사들에 대한 최고 후원자와 긴밀한 관계에 있다고 말했습니다.
한편 29일에는 바그다드의 수니파 회교사원 부근에서 폭탄이 터져 4명이 사망하고 최소한 6명이 부상했습니다.

Iraqi authorities say insurgent attacks across the country killed at least five people today (Saturday).
A car bomb near a gas station in Kirkuk killed three people. Two other attacks north of Baghdad killed two others, including a police officer. And a blast in the capital wounded 12 people.
Meanwhile, the U.S. military says Iraqi forces captured what they called a known foreign militant during a raid in western Baghdad. The military did not identify the suspect, only saying he is closely associated with a "top facilitator of foreign fighters" in Baghdad and Fallujah.
On Friday, a bomb blast near a Sunni Mosque in Baghdad killed four people and wounded at least six others.
