멕시코의 연방 선거 관리 위원회 (IFE)는 6일 정밀 재 검표를 실시한 결과, 집권당인 국민행동당의 펠리페 후보가 지난 2일 실시된 대통령 선거결과 35.88 퍼센트의 득표율로 승리가 확정됐다고 발표했습니다.
펠리페 후보의 경쟁자였던 좌파 민주혁명당의 안드레스 마누엘 로페스 오브라도르 후보는 매우 근소한 0.56% 차이로 낙선했습니다. 그러나 로페즈 오브라도르 후보는 패배를 인정할 수 없다며 선거결과의 최종판결을 위해 법적 투쟁을 벌일것이라고 말했습니다.

Mexico's Felipe Calderon is calling for national unity in the wake of the country's bitterly fought presidential election.
After a detailed count, Mexico's Federal Electoral Institute (IFE) Thursday issued a final report showing the ruling National Action Party standard bearer won 35-point-eight-eight percent of the vote from Sunday's voting. His leftist rival, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, was a close second with 35-point-three-one percent.
Calderon says it is time to put aside partisan differences and work together for the good of all Mexicans. He praised Lopez Obrador and promised his administration will work to alleviate suffering for millions of impoverished Mexicans.
The Democratic Revolution Party candidate is refusing to concede defeat and says he will legally challenge the final results.
